Written and revised by Playy V 1.0.0 For a melee fighter, parry is a very helpful skill to have. Parrying will not only give a much higher armor class (when wearing a shield) but also stops many attacks from enemies. This essay will go into detail about how to gain parrying. It's uses, and the right equipment to use. Skill gaining: Parrying in one of the types
of skills that when trained properly will raise moderately fast. But, no
matter how well trained will take a lot of time and work. To start off
you have to equip a shield (any type will do). Parry gain is based on the
number of hits done to a character, and the amount of damage done by each
hit. Fast "dex" monsters will raise lower levels of parry (40-70) quite
fast. Monsters such as: Tetherans, ophidians, orcs and skeletons are recommended
for skill gain up to mid 70's. Having a friend or guild mate healing you
will speed up the process quite a bit. For higherlevelsof parrying, monsters
with more power are recommended. "high damaging" monsters will give large
boosts to parry skill up to the GM level. Monsters such as: Deamonds, titans,
drakes, dragons and elementals are recommended for raising parry from 70-100.
Once you reach the mid 90's skill gain may slow down to +.1 every hour
or two. To continue to gain at a fast rate you may have to fight many monsters
at once, to receive more hits and more damage, this can be dangerous, but
will allow you to advance your skill at GM level in a shorter amount of
time.
